Sarah Palin Knows Dems Want to Run Against Romney

And Dems are even admitting it!

Tony Lee writing at Human Events caught this nugget of truth over the weekend:
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said the mainstream media and President Barack Obama “want to face Mitt Romney in the general election.” She made those comments on “Justice With Judge Jeanine” on FOX News on Saturday during the same time the Republican presidential candidates were debating in New Hampshire on ABC.

Palin said the mainstream media would take a hands-off approach to Romney “in order to bolster Romney’s chances” to “finally face Obama.”

According to Palin, the mainstream media and Obama would then portray Romney as someone who is out of touch with regular Americans in the general election.

“They are already gearing up to portray him, accurately or inaccurately … as being out of touch with the working class,” Palin said, noting that Romney’s wealth and perfect family may make it easy to paint him as someone “being a bit out of touch from working and middle class Americans and from the challenges we all face.”

Palin continued: “My opinion is that I can see what’s coming ... the media will try to bolster Romney so they can tear him down, and that is quite unfortunate.”

Palin then conceded that any of the candidates, though, would be better than Obama.
This opinion was confirmed by Democrat strategist Donna Brazile, who said this after the ABC New Hampshire debate:
Lost in the weekend’s back-to-back debates in New Hampshire was this illuminating remark by Democratic strategist Donna Brazile after Saturday night’s soporific contest in Manchester: “Mitt Romney won tonight because no one touched him. And for Democrats, you know what? It was good news for us . . . because we believe that the weakest candidate is the candidate that the Republicans are not attacking. And that’s Mitt Romney.”
Michael Walsh, with a column titled "Mr. Untouchable a Mitt-ing duck for Democrats" goes on to describe exactly why Democrats secretly want to run against Mitt:
Democrats and their media allies have been busy measuring Romney for the Occupy Wall Street/One Percenter memorial bad-guy suit. They can’t wait to rip him apart over his background as a corporate turnaround specialist who may have saved some golden parachutes but put ordinary folks out of work.
To paraphrase a comment at Mike's America by Bill P: What makes anyone think that Romney, a man who couldn't even beat John McCain in the 2008 primaries will be able to beat Obama in 2012?

P.S. Interesting to note, for what it's worth, that while Sarah Palin has yet to endorse a GOP candidate, her husband Todd has endorsed Newt Gingrich!
