Someone Please Check w/ Parkland Shooting Survivors 'Cause Suddenly It's OK for Dems to Like Assault Rifles and Oppose Banning?

Or is this just another admission that the only principle Democrats care about is the acquisition of power?

No need for more gun laws. Lamb: ""I believe we have a pretty good law on the books."
Readers will remember when Parkland school shooting survivor and media darling Jeff Kasky told Florida Senator Republican Marco Rubio in that CNN world wrestling style "townhall" that "it’s hard to look at you and not look down a barrel of an AR-15." Can you imagine that weeks later Democrats would be celebrating the victory of Connor Lamb in the special congressional election in Pennsylvania after Lamb posted a campaign ad proudly showing him firing his AR-15 assault rifle with the announcer saying Lamb "still loves to shoot." Lamb is on record opposing tighter restrictions on guns and a ban on assault rifles. Lamb even campaigned at a gun show. He might as well be the poster boy for the NRA.

Imagine what the reaction would be if Lamb were a Republican. CNN would charter a plane and fly the Parkland survivors up to the district to question why Lamb wants to see children dead. But Lamb is a Democrat so I guess assault rifles are OK. At least in the state that Obama once mocked for clinging to their guns and religion. But who the heck cares if school kids die as long as Dems retake the House of Representatives right? I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb to suggest that many Dems would see that as a worthy sacrifice!

Here's how top Democrats describe officials with Lamb's views:
Rep. Nancy Pelosi has declared that someone with Lamb's views on guns is nothing more than a "wholly-owned subsidiary of the NRA." Sen. Charles Schumer said at one of the student protests on Wednesday anyone with Lamb's views is in "the viselike grip of the NRA."

According to Sen. Diane Feinstein, Lamb's positions, including his opposition to banning the AR-15, aren't just misguided, they are "dangerously wrong"

Rep. Elizabeth Esty said that the focus on mental health over gun control "shows either a fundamental lack of understanding or incredible unwillingness to face reality." To Sen. Richard Blumenthal, it's just "an excuse for inaction."

By late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel's definition, Lamb is one of those "crazies" on guns.
But never mind all that now....

To all the kids who took a day off school to protest for stronger gun laws just remember how convenient Democrats find their support for the gun grabbing agenda. They're only for it when it helps them win. They care as much about solving that problem as they do a fix for the so-called "dreamer" illegal immigrants.  It's a political football and the kids are nothing but pawns.

But the schism with the Democrat mind meld goes much further than guns. Lamb opposes Dem calls for a nationwide $15 minimum wage. And natural gas fracking, a big bugaboo of the irrational environmental left is just fine with Lamb. To top that off he's a Roman Catholic who is personally pro life. Show Dracula the cross!

But none of that really matters does it?  With Democrats it's about power, not policy.  The muted reaction to Lamb's glaring heresy with Democrat orthodoxy reminds me of the first days of the Bill Clinton Administration. Just before Clinton's inaugural the military was rehearsing a flyover for the big event. A Clintonista was overheard objecting to the military but was corrected by a more senior official who whispered "those are OUR planes now."  So Lamb can keep his guns.  As long as he's a Democrat he can shoot all he wants!
